Dorothy Evelyn Vogt, 84, of Nashville, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012. She was born on Aug. 26, 1928, in Seguin, Texas, to Ben C. and Mary (Harris) Lorenz and grew up in Nixon.

She was an alumnus of Southwest Texas State University and taught for many years in the Arlington Independent School District in Arlington.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles August Vogt Jr.; her parents; and a son, Carey Wayne Vogt.

She is survived by her son, Roy Vogt and wife Carol Mae of Fairview, Tenn.; grandson Justin Charles Vogt and wife Emily of Springhill, Tenn.; and many loving friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
