Offer condolences


Eugenia “Geanie” Kiolbassa, 86, of St. Hedwig, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012. She was born on Nov. 16, 1925, in Carpenter to Frank and Agnes (Kosub) Kravitz.

Eugenia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Louis Jesse Kiolbassa; brother Thomas Kravitz; sister-in-law Bonnie Kravitz; sister Lucille Cockrell; brother-in-law John Cockrell; two infant brothers, George Kravitz and Louis Kravitz; and nephew Frank Lee Linne.

She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Hollingworth and Janine Kotara; grandchildren Roger Hollingworth and wife Danielle, Michael Hollingworth and fiancee Brooke George, Jason Kotara and wife Heather, and Jeffery Kotara and wife Heidi; great-grandsons Gavin Kotara, Colby Kotara, and Riley Hollingworth; sisters-in-law Alice Kiolbassa and Irene Kiolbassa; niece Cathy Winston and husband Gerald; nephews Tim Kravitz and wife Louise and Sam Kravitz and wife Kim; and many other loving family and friends.

The family wants to express a special thanks to Pecan Valley Nursing Home CNAs and nursing staff for their compassionate care of Louis and Eugenia Kiolbassa.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia with a rosary at 7 p.m.

A Mass was held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig with the Rev. Bill Zadora officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, 14011 F.M. 1346, St. Hedwig, TX 78152 or Steeple Fund at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, P.O. Box 100, St. Hedwig, TX 78152.
