Francisca Garza Garcia, a lifelong resident of Falls City, Texas, entered eternal rest Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at 8:55 p.m. in her residence in Falls City at the age of 90 years, 1 month, and 30 days. Francisca was born July 3, 1922, in Falls City, the daughter of Lucio and Petra Gonzalez Garza.

She attended Falls City schools and was a homemaker. Francisca married Geronimo B. Garcia on June 30, 1945, in Falls City. Francisca was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of more than 55 years, Geronimo B. Garcia on April 3, 2001; her son, Richard “Ricky” Garcia; four brothers; and one sister.

Francisca is survived by her children, Lucy Pena of Falls City, Lillian G. Ledesma of Italy, Texas, Mary Linda Mata of Houston, Yolie Bordovsky of Hobson, Betty Perna of Panna Maria, and Nora Bludau, Johnnie Garcia, Joe Garcia, and Geronimo Garcia Jr., all of Falls City; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Pereida of Crosbyton.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 5 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the church officiated by the Rev. Gregory Sawicki.

Interment followed in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Falls City.

Serving as pallbearers were Christopher Soto, Kyle Perna, Benny Bordovsky, Gabriel Garcia, Andrew Lopez, and Michael Mata.
