FLORESVILLE -- The Floresville Tiger freshman Maroon football team hosted the Brackenridge Eagles last Thursday night. The Tigers fought hard for four quarters and defeated the Eagles 18-2.

The freshmen were led by quarterback Koby Wilkerson and wide receiver Bradly Bunn. The two connected on a 35-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead. In the second quarter, Wilkerson called his own number on a play-action pass and ran in another touchdown from 40 yards out, making the score 12-0.

The Tiger defense played an outstanding game, pitching a shutout. The defense was led by Phillip Pacheco, Mutz, and a host of other Tigers who continued to run to the football the whole game.

In the second half, the Eagles were able to pin the Tigers back by their own goal line, which ended up creating a safety, making the score 12-2.

The Tiger defense ended up putting up the last touchdown for the team. On a third-and-long play, free safety Wilkerson intercepted a pass and ran it back 55 yards for a Tiger touchdown, making the final score 18-2. Congratulations, Tigers, on a great game and victory.

The Tiger freshman Maroon team is now 1-1 in competition. The Tigers have a bye week, and will prepare to face the Lanier Voks next week.
