Five Soil Health workshops have been scheduled for September throughout the state, with the first set for Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Seguin.

The workshop, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Service, will be held from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Texas Agricultural Education and Heritage Center (Big Red Barn) located at 390 Cordova Road in Seguin.

Agronomists Ray Archuleta and Willie Durham will teach principles of agroecology, basic soil function, ecosystem processes, and adaptive nutrient management, plus adaptive grazing principles on cropland and pasture during the workshop.

Attendees must be registered one week prior to the workshop, by emailing nancy.posvar@tx.usda.gov.

For more information, visit www.tx.nrcs.usda.gov or contact Willie Durham, conservation agronomist, at 254-231-1258 or email williedurham@tx.usda.gov.
