CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Must demonstrate written and presentation communication skills. Must be available to work intermittent evenings/weekends with some travel.  Must have personal car, current TDL, and auto liability insurance. Dorthey Catherine Sells, 91, passed away at home Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, from heart and kidney failure. She was born April 13, 1921, in Stockdale, Texas.

After graduation from Sutherland Springs High School, she married William Robert Sells and settled in San Antonio. Dorthey was widowed on Sept. 3, 1956.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Mary Frances Stafford Burris; her siblings, Henry, J.C., Bertha Frances, Willie, Mary, Addie Mae, Hugh, Albert Lee, Mable Ida, Arthur, Luther, Robert Lawrence, Lester Arch, and Lloyd Wayn.

Dorthey is survived by her sons, Billy R. “Buddy” Sells of Bulverde and Robert D. Sells and wife Nancy; her daughters, Shirley S. Boatright of San Antonio and Mary Cathie Sells of Dallas; five grandchildren, Stephanie Oliver and husband Greg of Dallas, Marissa Varnador of South Carolina, Cody and Cory Sells of Elmendorf, and Shelley Koch of San Antonio; five great-grandchildren, Mason, Kayla. and Chelsey Varnador, all of South Carolina, and Brooke and Parker Oliver, both of Dallas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City.

The Sutherland Springs School Classmates wish to send their heart felt sympathy to all the family. Dorothey had been coming to the reunions up to 2000. She will be missed and always remembered.
