The Wilson County News offers candidates facing opposition in the Nov. 6 election an opportunity to reach voters by participating in our “Candidates’ Q&A.” There is no charge for inclusion in this forum, which will be published Oct. 17.

The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11.

This feature is offered to declared candidates facing opposition in races in which area voters will be able to cast ballots, including the city of Floresville, the Floresville and East Central school districts, Wilson County, and state and national offices.

Include a brief introduction of approximately 50 words; do not include your name or the office you seek.

Submissions should answer this question: What do you see as the No. 1 issue facing you if you are elected and how do you propose to address it? Responses are limited to 200 words.

Submissions must be legibly handwritten, typed, or computer-printed. They may be delivered in person to the newspaper offices, postal-mailed, or faxed. All must include the candidate’s signature. Submissions may be emailed to nkilbey-smith@wcn-online.com or by other electronic devices; however, a hard copy must also be sent, bearing the candidate’s signature. Signed hard copies by fax are acceptable.

Entries are subject to editing as needed for length, basic grammar, spelling, good taste, and libel. Please, no bashing of opponents.

Candidates may send a recent, publication-quality photograph to accompany the submission, or they may stop by the Wilson County News offices in Floresville to have a staff member take a photo.

Deliver or send submissions to Candidates’ Forum, Wilson County News, 1012 C St., Floresville, TX 78114; or fax to 830-393-3219.
