Kotzur fills Extension position
Joslyn Kotzur will begin her position of Wilson County Extension agent-4-H and youth development Monday, Oct. 1, according to a joint announcement by Wilson County Judge Marvin Quinney and District Extension Administrator Cheryl Mapston.
Kotzur attended Texas A&M University and received a Bachelor of Science in animal science. She has served as junior program coordinator for Beefmaster Breeders United and the Junior National Show, and coordinated the open and Junior Beefmaster show at all major livestock shows. Kotzur directed Junior Beefmaster activities and managed social media sites for the Junior Beefmaster Breeder Association.
Kotzur was a member of the 4-H and FFA. She held various 4-H leadership positions and served on the county, district, and state 4-H councils. Some of her 4-H and FFA projects included livestock judging, meats judging, clothing, parliamentary procedures, and dairy foods judging. She showed sheep, goats, swine, and cattle.
“We are extremely pleased to have Joslyn in Wilson County,” Mapston said. She will be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and interpreting effective Extension education programs in the area of 4-H and youth development in Wilson County.
