Boone benefit includes roping, music, cook-off

Friends have organized a benefit to offset the medical expenses of Atlee Boone, born with VACTERL Association. The event will be held Sept. 28-29 at the Floresville Event Center.

The event will feature live music, a cook’s choice cook-off, live and silent auctions, children’s games and events, entertainment, and a roping contest presented by Jaime and Shannon Macias of $hort Round Production$.

The festivities begin Friday at 7 p.m. with the registration for the roping event. Roping begins at 8 p.m.

Saturday, roping events will include numbers 9, 11, and 13 slide. Books will open at 9 a.m. and roping begins at 10 a.m.

Mutton bustin’ begins at noon on Saturday. DJ Mo Music, “Last Call Outlaws,” and “Tru Grit” will provide entertainment throughout the day.

Games and children’s activities will include two moon jumps, a children’s hot dog cook-off, a three-legged race, a fake cow-milking contest, and a test-your-strength striker.
