Due to the heavy rainfall predicted for Saturday, Sept. 29, the Wilson County Collection Event has been canceled, according to LeAnn Hosek, Wilson County Office of Emergency Management coordinator.

Hosek added the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. until noon, at the La Vernia High School Annex located at 305 Bluebonnet (F.M. 775) in La Vernia.

Vendors will be collecting household hazardous waste, used tires, and used electronics. The event will also serve as a pharmaceutical waste collection.

This event is for residents of Wilson County only; no businesses.
