Weather cancels weekend events

This weekend’s rain forecast is prompting the cancellation of various events.

First, the Wilson County Household Hazardous Waste Collection event set for Saturday, Sept. 29, in La Vernia has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1, according to information provided by LeAnn Hosek, Emergency Management Coordinator. For more information, call 830-393-8351.

Also, the San Antonio River Authority’s National Public Lands Day event -- which also was the grand opening of the Saspamco Paddling Trail and the Helton-San Antonio River Nature Park near Elmendorf -- set for Saturday, Sept. 29, has been canceled. A decision is pending on whether it will be rescheduled.
