Offices to close for Peanut Festival, Columbus Day
Several city and county offices will be closed in observance of Columbus Day, which is Monday, Oct. 8. Some offices will also observe the Peanut Festival taking place Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 11-13.
City halls in Stockdale and Elmendorf will be closed, while La Vernia, Floresville, and Poth will remain open with normal business hours. Floresville City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday, Oct. 11-12.
The Sam Fore Jr. Wilson County Public Library will be open Oct. 8, but will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, and will also be closed Friday, in observance of the Peanut Festival.
The Wilson County Courthouse will remain open on Columbus Day, and be closed on Friday, Oct. 12. The Wilson County Appraisal District will remain open all week.
Post offices in Floresville, La Vernia, Poth, Sutherland Springs, Stockdale, and Elmendorf will be closed Oct. 8.
Guadalupe Valley Electric Co-op in La Vernia will be open all week. Floresville Electric Light & Power System in Floresville will be closed on Columbus Day and will close at noon on Friday, Oct. 12.
In addition, both Wells Fargo bank locations will be open Monday, Oct. 8.
The Wilson County News office will be open all week with normal business hours.
