FLORESVILLE -- The city council here now will be tasked with making approximately $60,000 in cuts to the fiscal year 2013 budget, after a 2-1 vote at the Sept. 27 Floresville City Council meeting brought about a reduction in the ad valorem tax rate.  . . .

Very good point fly. You seem to get it, now if we can just get the mayor and council to understand it. It's tough times for everyone, government can cut back on spending as well

Am I missing something? The gross revenues for the upcoming FY should be equal to the amount from the last FY, shouldn't it. The lower rate times the increase in property value should equal the same as last FY. Was there a $60K ... More ›

DTR, It was stated at the meeting that the lower trash rates are not reflected in the budget.

The city manager is overpaid and there are probably a few more of the mayors relatives working for city that are overpaid. We just need to look and cut the fat off that we don't need and I'm sure that would be more then enough ... More ›
