FLORESVILLE -- The city of Floresville will have a familiar face in the office of city secretary as, effective Oct. 1, former Constituent Liaison Sherry Pollok will assume the role.

Pollok, who has been serving as administrative services director since the reorganization at City Hall, said she is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition.

“Margaret [Aranda] is helping me to get everything organized and we are working together to make sure everything is done according to the charter,” Pollok said. “I will be going from a supervisory position into a non-supervisory position, but it is kind of a lateral move as far as the organizational chart goes.”

Margaret Aranda, the current city secretary, will be taking over duties for Pollok.

“The ladies are basically switching jobs,” said City Manager Andy Joslin. “Both Margaret and Sherry have done a tremendous job fulfilling their duties. Although Margaret had been requesting to be moved from the city secretary position for almost a year, I felt the need to make the move now to better serve our citizens. With the election coming up and a new council coming in, it just seemed like the right time. Both ladies have agreed on the move in the best interest of the city. I have confidence in Sherry to be able to do that job.”

Aranda also served as an election judge for the city of Floresville. Pollok said she is currently in the process of taking the appropriate classes and filing the paperwork to be ready to serve in that capacity during the general election.

“I am working together with Margaret closely to ensure a smooth transition,” Pollok said. “It’s been a lot of work, but I will be ready to go by Oct. 1.”

What a joke. So does she remain in the first lady position or has she been tossed out in anticipation of a new election judge? Mediocrity indeed.

So since Ms. Pollock was in a supervisory position, does that mean that Margaret is now in a supervisory position? Really? Remove her because of the things she has been doing and you put her in a supervisory position?
