Daniel and Rebecca (Castro) Rocha were married on June 27, 1962, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, Texas, by the Rev. Daniel Hennessy. Blessed with 50 years of life, love, and marriage, they celebrated their anniversary with a Mass and renewal of vows on June 30, 2012, in the St. Luke Catholic Church in San Antonio in the presence of family and close friends.

In marriage, Rebecca and Daniel were blessed with two children, David and Michelle. The anniversary party included their family, David and Denise Rocha of Austin, Adam and Michelle R. Byrd of Dallas, grandson Joshua Byrd (5-1/2 years old), and twin grandsons Carter and Dawson Byrd (4 years old). Celebrants for the anniversary Mass were the Rev. George Montague, BBD, and the Rev. Joseph Mary Marshall, BBD, from St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Seminarian Miguel Moreno from the Assumption Seminary assisted with the Mass. Music ministers for the celebration were pianist Cindy Castillo and vocalists Mr. and Mrs. David Ayon. After the Mass, the anniversary couple and their guests were serenaded by Mariachi Damas de Jalisco.

The celebration continued with a reception, dinner, and dance in the St. Luke Parish Hall. The mariachi group entertained the guests along with a slide show presentation of family photos. There were many guests in attendance, including family members who had been at their wedding. Also present were several bridesmaids who were recognized, thanked, and presented with a rose corsage.

Following dinner, Daniel and Rebecca made a presentation describing how they met, married, and traveled with the U.S. Army. Daniel became a career soldier and retired after 25 years of military service. As a military family, they lived in various military installations in the United States and overseas in Okinawa, Japan, and Germany. Living in Germany gave them an opportunity to tour various European countries.

Daniel and Rebecca will remember their 50th wedding anniversary as a festive and joyous celebration with their children and grandchildren in the midst of loving guests. The varied entertainment by the mariachis, DJ Express, and Rene Rene added to the festivities. There were many congratulations and blessings for a continued happy marriage.

With gratitude, Daniel and Rebecca thank their guests for participating and sharing one of the most important days of their life. They praise and thank God for the grace provided in sustaining them throughout their marriage, and for the gift of their children, grandchildren, and family life. They extend their thanks to everyone who helped in making their 50th anniversary a memorable and blessed celebration.
