The Lone Star Coonhunter Association held its annual Fall Classic coon hunt and show Sept. 15.

The overall bench show was won by Teddy Holekamp of Junction with Son, while the night hunt was won by James Blackburn of Blanco. Both received plaques and a Yeti cooler purchased at the Country Store in La Vernia.

Organizers said that all had a good time, as participants enjoyed the cool wet weather. Organizers gave thanks to Margie Lothringer for allowing everyone to meet at “The Bunk House.” She saw to it no one went hungry, as she and her daughter, Deborah, prepared chili and beans, cornbread, and German chocolate cake.

Thanks go out to all who participated, and congratulations go to the winners.
