Lorna Dell Wehmann Ploug, 84, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012. She was born on March 27, 1928, in Floresville to Otto and Anita Wehmann.

Lorna Dell was a graduate of Floresville High School, where she was also a drummer for the school band. She worked for Frost National Bank in San Antonio. She moved to Kingsville when her dad went to work as a farm foreman for A&I University at the abandoned Naval Air Station in Kingsville. Lorna Dell went to work for Kleberg First National Bank as a bookkeeper, where she later retired after 33 years of service.

Lorna Dell was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Dale Robert Ploug.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Ploug; her son, John Ploug; her niece, Fawn Bednarz and husband Steven; nephew Donald Wehmann and wife Dianne; great-nieces Jennifer Scott and husband Mark, Michelle Sturm and husband Justin, and Desiree Wehmann; and a great-nephew, David Wehmann.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kingsville.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the church.

Interment followed in the Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville.
