CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Must demonstrate written and presentation communication skills. Must be available to work intermittent evenings/weekends with some travel.  Must have personal car, current TDL, and auto liability insurance. Samuel Zamora III passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 59. He was born in Laredo on Dec. 11, 1952, to Margie Marie Tenery and Samuel Zamora Jr.

Sam was a field superintendent for 30 years with GD Interior Construction. He loved spending time with family and friends, cooking and discovering new foods, deep-sea fishing, traveling, and most of all, raising cattle in Webb County. He will be deeply missed, said his family.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; sister Antonia Irene Holmes; and brother-in-law Carl Beckum.

He is survived by his wife, Marion Zamora; sisters Dorothy Guffey and husband Grady, Melinda Millsap and husband Roland, and Grace Beckum; brother Felipe Zamora; brother-in-law Jimmy Holmes and son Jason Conner; niece Michelle Nelson and husband Jeff and children Arabella and Alexander; nephew Michael Beckum and wife Erica and children Madalyne and Molly; niece Antonia Whisenant and husband Ryan and children Roland and Skylar; brother-in-law David Hatcher and wife Ranju and son Mark; sister-in-law Vivienne Pearse and husband Peter and son John; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 28, from 5-7 p.m. in the Porter Loring Mortuary in San Antonio.

A graveside service was held Saturday at noon in the Samuel Zamora Jr. Ranch in Encinal with the Rev. Lance Heartsfield officiating.
