Offer condolences


Harley Schnitz, 69, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012. He was born March 28, 1943, in Guadalupe County, the son of Sebe and Annie (Allbritton) Schnitz.

Harley was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elaine (Doege) Schnitz; his daughters, Dianell Recker and husband Brent of La Vernia, Sherry Schneider and husband Craig of Seguin, and Shannon Coleman and husband Ronnie of La Vernia; his grandsons, Braden and Logan Recker, Blake Schneider, and Bryson Coleman; his granddaughters, Brylee Coleman and Kandis Schneider; his brother, Rex Schnitz; his sister, Beverly Pierce; his nephew, Chris Pierce and wife Shalesha of Houston; and numerous other family members and many loving friends.

Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 28, from 4-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Robert Palan and the Rev. Jim Price officiating.

Interment followed in the Post Oak Cemetery in Guadalupe County.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Guadalupe Regional Hospice, 1331 E. Court St., Seguin, TX 78155.
