Help Wanted

CASA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR, FULL-TIME POSITION. Provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers to ensure that abused children’s best interests are represented in court. Social services experience required.  Responsible for assisting with recruiting and initial training of advocates, and coordinating cases in Wilson County and Karnes County with Atascosa County (home office). Must demonstrate written and presentation communication skills. Must be available to work intermittent evenings/weekends with some travel.  Must have personal car, current TDL, and auto liability insurance. Offer condolences


E.M. Kopecki passed away on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, in San Antonio, Texas, at age 89. He was born on Aug. 14, 1923, in Wilson County to Steve Kopecki and Julia Kolodziej.

E.M. enjoyed farming, ranching, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was an example of life lived well.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Gene Kopecki; sister Sally Murks; and brothers Tom, Ben, and Edward Kopecki.

E.M. is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Doris Moczygemba Kopecki; sister Sissy McKinnon; daughter Paullette Allen; son Perry Kopecki and wife Tracy; grandchildren Alan Allen and wife Terri, Joshua Kopecki and wife Brianna, and Crystal Kopecki; great-grandchild Caitlin Allen; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital for the care they provided.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 6-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in San Antonio.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Interment will follow in the San Fernando Cemetery No. 2 in San Antonio.
