The parishioners of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church are preparing for their annual Turkey Dinner and Turkey Shoot, sponsored by the Cestohowa Altar Society and Men’s Club, to be held Sunday, Oct. 21, on the church grounds at 300 F.M. 3191 in Cestohowa.

The day will begin with a Mass at 10 a.m. in the historic parish church. The grotto honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary was recently restored and depicts Mary in the form of Our Lady of Cestohowa, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The altar society will serve a traditional turkey and dressing dinner with all the trimmings for $8 per plate from 11 a.m. until all plates are sold or 1 p.m. Homemade cakes, pies, and pastries will also be sold. A concession stand with tamales and other refreshments will also be available. Activities include bingo at noon, children’s games, and more. Don’t forget to take your shotguns for the turkey shoot to be held from noon until dark. Prizes will be awarded to the top three turkey winners. Shotgun shells will be furnished.

For more information, call 830-745-2633.
