Support Coach Jackson
By Nikki Fackelman
The faculty of Stockdale High School has often impacted the city of Stockdale in more ways than one. But there is one man who has impacted so many, that he is known for just being himself. He has contributed so much to his students in cross country and tennis, getting his teams to shoot for the gold. He’s such an amazing character. This man is known as Coach Lester Jackson.
Many students look up to him for his shining personality and his booming and demanding persona. Every student who has ever worked with him has had nothing but funny stories and great moments to talk about.
Coach Jackson has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. This surprising news caused the students at Stockdale High School to observe a moment of silence. Everyone is remaining extremely positive and has faith in his full recovery!
Knowing all of this is going on, the high school campus has decided to take action. The people of Stockdale are having a benefit in honor of Coach Jackson. The benefit is on Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Stockdale City Hall starting at 10:30 a.m. It will consist of a silent auction, barbecue plates, and baked goods. All of the proceeds from the benefit will go toward Coach Jackson’s recovery fund and will be greatly appreciated.
