Homecoming week has kicked off at Floresville High School with the Student Council setting up events for the week including the homecoming ceremony and tailgate party before the homecoming football game.

The Student Council is hosting their first tailgate party in several years before the football game from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Tiger’s Den parking lot. Organizations around the school and community will provide booths with food, games, and other entertainment. Some booths will charge a small fee.

The entire community is welcome! Parking will be around the North Campus Gym and in between the South Elementary School and the high school band hall.

After the tailgate party, the crowning ceremony for the Homecoming Court will start at 6:30 p.m. in Eschenburg Field. This year senior nominees for Homecoming King and Queen are Jorge Campos and Kaitlyn Eberhardt, Roby Pennartz and Kathryn Eaton, Colby Shodrock and Kaitlyn Montoya, and Shae Crawford and Emma Woodlee.

For the homecoming ceremony the Student Council invites the high school’s graduating class of 2002 to represent the decade past. Homecoming Courts from years 1992, 1982, etc. are invited to the ceremony as well.

The Tigers will play their homecoming and third district game against Memorial High School at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in Eschenburg Field.

Lindsey is a senior at Floresville High School.
