Melanie Reed, the 17-year-old daughter of Randy and Robin Reed, is honored to be representing past President Shirley Polasek.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, and has maintained a 4.0 grade-point average the past four years. She is co-captain of the Jaguar volleyball team and a three-year varsity letterman, and has earned All- District recognition and Academic All-District honors. She also holds a varsity letter in track. Melanie is the president of the Floresville Chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators and a member of the FFA. As a member of the Bentwood 4- H, she has shown heifers at the Wilson County Junior Livestock Show. For the past two years, Melanie has been helping the freshman class adjust to high school as a Link Crew Leader. She plans to attend Texas Lutheran University and major in psychology. She would like to thank Jaron Medina for escorting her.

Jaron Medina is the 17-year-old son of Doris Garza and Hector Medina. He is a two-year varsity letterman for the Tiger basketball team, earning All-District and Academic All-District honors, as well as a member of the cross-country team. Jaron is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. His future plans include attending the University of Texas at Dallas to study law enforcement. His long-term goal is to become a Texas Ranger.
