Jacopo Crosetto, an exchange student from Italy, is a special guest of the Floresville Peanut Festival. He lives in Floresville with host mom, Nancy Koch. His parents, Silvia and Piergiorgio Crosetto, and his 6-year-old sister, Eva, live in Torino, Italy.

Jacopo, a senior at Floresville High School, is a member of the Mighty Tiger Band and is on the soccer team. He plays the guitar and piano, and is learning to play the marimba.

In Italy, Jacopo competes on the Brown Belt level of karate. He also played soccer on a community league.

When Jacopo returns to Italy, he plans to attend a university and become a lawyer or judge. He looks forward to a great year in Floresville.

Jacopo’s escort will be Sonja Tweeten.

Sonja, the 17-year-old daughter of Jerry and Darlene Tweeten, has one sister Gavin. The granddaughter of Joe and Lydia Gamez and Dennis and Sonja Tweeten, Sonja is the great-granddaughter of Alfred and Tomasa Gamez and Erinero and Susan Seguin.

Sonja is a member of the National Honor Society. She has been awarded the “A” Honor Roll and is taking AP and dual credit courses.

Sonja, a senior at Floresville High School, is currently a member and captain of the Jaguar volleyball team. She has also been a member of the Spanish Club, the Red Cross Club, the Link Crew, Jaguar softball, and is currently the Senior Class Student Council Girl Representative.

She is employed at H-E-B and appreciates the job experience she has received. Upon graduation, Sonja plans to attend college and major in biology.
