ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Lindsey Taylor Wilson, the daughter of Janice and Phillip Wilson, is a 17-year-old senior at Floresville High School. She has two older sisters, Erin and Emily Brown. She and her escort, Austin Villanueva, will represent the Floresville Musical Club.

Lindsey is the reporter/historian for Student Council, and a member of National Honor Society, Link Crew, Friends of Rachel, and UIL Academics. She is also a member of the varsity tennis team and has made it to team regionals and individual regionals in girls singles. She also has played in many U.S. Tennis Association tournaments. Lindsey received fourth place in district editorial writing and first place in news writing, advancing to regionals. She is in the top 10 percent and has made the “A” Honor Roll for three years.

After graduation, Lindsey plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in journalism in the College of Communications. She hopes to one day be a columnist for The New York Times.

Lindsey’s escort, Austin Benjamin Villanueva, is a 17-year-old senior at Floresville High School and is the son of Stacy Ledford and Benny Villanueva. He has one younger brother in seventh grade, Zachary Villanueva.

Austin is a member of the varsity basketball, cross-country, and track teams, and National Honor Society. Austin also competes in club basketball leagues in San Antonio during the summer. Austin has gotten “AB” Honor Roll for three years and is in the top 25 percent of his class.

After graduation, Austin plans to attend Austin Community College and then transfer to the University of Texas at Austin, where he will major in business or sports management.

Both Lindsey and Austin are honored to represent the Floresville Musical Club and thank the club for the opportunity to be a part of this year’s Peanut Festival.
