Cassandra Gutierrez is honored to represent Floresville Peanut Festival Association Director Pam Burkett in the 68th annual festival. Cassandra is the 18-year-old daughter of Anela Ortiz and David Alfaro and is a senior at Floresville High School.

Cassandra likes to weld and competes with the FHS SkillsUSA welding class at competitions. As a student in the high school Work-Based Learning program this year, Cassandra is employed at the Wilson County Clerk’s Office. She loves to smile and bring joy to everyone, which is what she considers her full-time hobby.

Her escort will be Michael Gonzales, the 17-year-old son of Margaret Alfaro. Michael is also a senior at Floresville High School and is currently employed at Bill Miller. Michael is a student in the Career Prep Work-Based Learning program, and plans to continue his education at Texas Lutheran University to become a veterinarian.

Michael is honored to participate in the coronation and parade and would like to thank Cassandra for asking him to be her escort.
