Christl Aylesworth will represent Floresville Peanut Festival Association Director Norma Drozd in the 68th annual Peanut Festival. Christl is the 17-year-old daughter of Helen Del Carmen Aylesworth and the late Roland Hubert Aylesworth.

A senior at Floresville High School, Christl is enrolled in the LVN program through St. Philip’s College. Christl volunteers on a regular basis at the Bexar County Clerk’s office and Connally Memorial Medical Center. She has also volunteered at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home and the Sam Fore Jr. Wilson County Public Library. Christl has participated in ROTC, UIL, and Art Club, where she has competed at the state level. She was the Wilson County Sesquicentennial third-place winner in the art submissions. Christl is in the FHS Career Prep program and is excited about her senior year. She also enjoys reading and writing, as well as poetry and art.

Christl’s escort will be Michael Barclay, the son of Pamela Dianne and Michael Scott Barclay. He is a member of the National Honor Society, San Antonio and Texas Rabbit Breeder Associations, and the Sunnyside 4-H Club. As a 4-H member, Michael has won many awards, and has participated in state-level competitions. For the past two years, he has participated in shooting sports. Michael is also a four-year member of the Mighty Tiger Band. During his spare time, he enjoys video gaming, reading, and activities with his family.

Christl and Michael would like to thank Norma Drozd and the Peanut Festival Association for the opportunity to participate in this year’s festivities. Christl would also like to thank her teacher, Mrs. Rogers, for being very supportive and for all her guidance.
