It is with great pride that Maddux Louis Cantu will serve as train bearer to Queen-elect Caitlyn May of the Court of America’s Majestic Beauty. Maddux is the son of Joseph and Courtney Cantu. His sister, Madelynn, is a sixth-grade student at Floresville Middle School. He is the grandson of Manuel and Yolanda Cantu, and Roland and Susie Castro, all of Floresville.

Maddux, a kindergartener, is a proud student of Sacred Heart Catholic School, where he and his family are members of the parish. He is thrilled that he has the honor of following in his big sister’s footsteps as a Sacred Heart School student as well as participating as a court member. His big sister Madelynn proudly served as scepter bearer in 2007 to Queen Allison Marie Woelfler of the Court of Romantic Moments. He has been involved in many activities throughout Wilson County, including soccer and t-ball. Maddux loves the outdoors and his favorite pastime is catching fish with his daddy and making mud pies with his big sister. When he is not on the water or in the dirt, he enjoys dressing up as a cowboy, superheroes, and playing Super Mario Bros. with his mom.

This opportunity would not have been possible without the help of many special friends and family. The construction of his royal robes would not have been imaginable without the amazing magic hands of his seamstress, Theresa Ann Lopez of San Antonio. Using her God- given talents, she took a sketch and brought it to real life. He sends many hugs and kisses to his Auntie Carmen Leal, Tia Melissa Sendejo, and Nora Cadena for all they have done to make him shine. He wishes to extend his sincere appreciation to the Floresville Peanut Festival Association’s entire board of directors for their continuous hard work and dedication in preserving this historic tradition.

Every fall, Maddux and his family, along with the entire community of Floresville, anxiously await this grand celebration in honor of the agriculture, history, and the community. He is looking forward to gathering with his family members and friends for this grand tradition and is so delighted that Queen-elect Caitlyn May and her family have given him this amazing opportunity. Maddux wishes to send a special “hello” to all of his pals and teachers at Sacred Heart Catholic School. He looks forward to seeing you all at the 68th annual Floresville Peanut Festival for the great carnival rides, funnel cakes, and his favorite, roasted corn.
