Goober Gazette: Scepter bearer Karina Bree Lyssy
Karina Bree Lyssy is thrilled and honored to announce that she has been chosen by Queen-elect Caitlyn May to serve as the scepter bearer in the 2012 Court of America’s Majestic Beauty. She is the 8-year-old daughter of Aldon “Shorty” and Denice Lyssy and the sweet little sister to Marissa and Erika. Her extremely proud grandparents are Joyce and Daniel Moy Sr., and Anton and Maxine Lyssy of Tower Lakes, and great-grandma is Josephine Padalecki of San Antonio.
Karina is having an outstanding time participating with all the wonderful court members in the numerous Peanut Festival activities so far just like her big sister, Marissa, did when she was a train bearer to Queen Brittani Pruski in the 2001 Court of Majestic Radiance and like her other big sister, Erika, who just served as a page to Queen Alexa Carvajal in the 2011 Court of Mystical Magical Universe.
Karina loves third grade and her super teachers at the Floresville North Elementary and enjoys singing in the Sacred Heart Church Choir, where she and her family are members. She’s also starting her fifth year with Erin Jones Dance. In her spare time, Lil’ “Zsa-Zsa” has fun shopping the malls, creating her own dance routines, collecting purses, riding golf carts, boating, and fishing with her Papa, Mama, sisters, family, and friends.
The family and Karina wish to extend their gratitude to their amazingly talented seamstress, Linda McInvale, (and a “special” angel friend) for all their hard work and dedication by transforming a drawing into a gorgeous reality and to Pat and Hilary Reile for their magnificent designs, as always. She can’t wait to model her exquisite gown and joyfully represent her hometown.
In addition, many thanks go out to Queen-elect Caitlyn, her parents, and the association for this opportunity of a lifetime. Karina also gives appreciation to her terrific family and friends for their continued love and support. These are definitely treasured memories that Karina will never forget and she looks forward to seeing everyone at the 68th annual Peanut Festival.
