Goober Gazette: Prince-elect Albert M. Saenz III
Albert M. Saenz III proudly accepts the honor of serving as prince to his childhood friend and cousin, Princess Ryann Danielle Palacios, in the 68th annual Floresville Peanut Festival Court of America’s Majestic Beauty.
Albert, the 17-year-old son of Yolanda and Albert Saenz Jr., is the grandson of Petra Rodriguez of Floresville and the late Frank Rodriguez Sr., and Rosa Saenz of San Antonio and the late Albert Saenz Sr. Albert is blessed by the presence of his 94-year-old great-grandmother, Margarita Cruz Sendejo. He is brother to Elizabeth, Crystal, and Abby and is the proud uncle to Avery, Aliza, Alexis, Alaina, Ryan, and baby Rocky on the way.
Albert is delighted to have the opportunity once again to take part in peanut history. In 1999, his sister Crystal Saenz Reyna was crowned queen of the Court of Autumn Beauty. Albert served as crown bearer, Cousin Kassie Trinidad as scepter bearer, and god-sister Felicia Hernandez as page. Albert joins a long list of family members who have also participated in past royalty. King Justin Leal, King Jordan Leal, Princess Kassie Trinidad, Princess Analisa Talamantez Orta, Page Alexa Cantu, Page Patrick Silva, and most recently his sister Abby served as scepter bearer and cousin Darren Servantez served as prince to Queen Alexa Marie Carvajal in the Court of Mystical Magical Universe.
Albert is enjoying a busy and fun-filled senior year at Floresville High School. He has remained committed to his academics and extra-curricular activities and takes pride in his many accomplishments. He is ranked in the top part of his class and will graduate as a distinguished honor student. He has helped lead the student body as past Student Council president and is the senior class
vice president. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, the Mighty Tiger Band drumline, and Business Professionals of America, placing first in prepared speech. He is the past regional president and currently state historian. He was honored to attend the National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., and most recently traveled to Chicago, where he was awarded the Ambassador Torch award, the highest recognition award in the national organization of BPA.
Albert is an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, teen A.C.T.S., Vacation Bible School, and Columbian Squires, and is president of the youth group.
He currently works at the Floresville Independent School District Administration Office, and upon graduation, he plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin.
Albert and Ryann grew up as neighbors, cousins, brother and sister in Christ, and the best of friends. He has the utmost respect for Carolyn and Mauricio Palacios and greatly appreciates the opportunity of escorting his childhood friend. He offers his love and gratitude to Nora Cadena for her God-given talents in crafting an incredible sash designed by the talented Pat and Hilary Reile. Much appreciation to President Rhea Nell Rogers, the Peanut Festival Association, and all the court parents for their support. Lastly, Albert thanks God and his family for accompanying him on this journey.
