John Robert Handowski is honored and proud to serve as Prince to Princess Mikayla Coldewey in the 68th annual Floresville Peanut Festival Court of America’s Majestic Beauty.

John, the son of Robert and Molly Handowski of Fairview, has one brother, Samuel, and one sister, Veronica. John is the grandson of Mary Handowski of San Antonio and the late Richard Handowski and Maxine Zinsmeister of Medina Lake and the late Louie Zinsmeister.

John, a senior at Floresville High School, is a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was voted class favorite his freshman year. John has played varsity football all four years of high school and has been a regional qualifier on the Floresville track relay team for two years.

He has grown up working on the family ranch and is very capable of working cattle and operating sawmill machinery. He is currently employed at FELPS as part of the school’s work-based program. John is also the field manager of hay production at La Paloma ranch.

John, a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Pleasanton, has served Mass for many years. He also volunteers to read to the elementary school students as part of the football program.

In his spare time, John enjoys fishing at the coast and camping in the Hill Country.

After graduation, John will attend a Texas university and major in criminal justice with a minor in linguistics. He would like to work in federal law enforcement and have his own ranch.

John would like to thank Mikayla and her family for their friendship and he looks forward to sharing this experience with them. He also thanks his parents for their love and support. Most of all, John thanks God for his abundant blessings.
