Mikayla Marie Coldewey is honored to represent the Floresville Peanut Festival Association as Princess of Cascading Waters in the 68th annual Floresville Peanut Festival Court of America’s Majestic Beauty.

Mikayla, the 17-year-old daughter of Dawn and Edward Norment and the late Michael Coldewey, has two younger sisters, Sarah and Elizabeth, who attend Floresville Middle School. Mikayla is the granddaughter of Linda Hutchinson and the late Donald W. Hutchinson, Andrew and Berta Coldewey, and Carrie Norment. She is also the great-granddaughter of Willene Smith, all of Floresville.

Mikayla is very excited to be in her senior year at Floresville High School. She has been a junior class treasurer and a member of Student Council. She was a varsity cheerleader her sophomore year, and has played on the varsity soccer team since her freshman year. As a Jaguar soccer player, Mikayla has received honorable mention, district leading goal scorer, and first team all-district forward.

Upon graduation, Mikayla plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, where she will pursue a degree in biomedical sciences.

Being from royalty, Mikayla is excited to represent Floresville as a princess, just as her mom did in the Court of Our Fortieth Festivities. Her dad also served as a prince to Queen Jacqueline Karen Johns during their reign together in 1984.

Mikayla would like to thank John Handowski for serving as her prince-elect, Hilary and Pat Reile for their beautiful designs, and her seamstress, Esther Montoya, for turning a drawing into a beautiful reality.

Special thanks go to her mother and grandmother, Linda Hutchinson, for all the time, love, and effort involved in putting together her train; and all the rest of her family and friends for their love and support. She extends her most sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Peanut Festival Association for giving her the privilege and opportunity to represent Floresville in the upcoming Peanut Festival.
