Rhea Nell Rogers is proud to serve as president of the 68th annual Floresville Peanut Festival and the Court of America’s Majestic Beauty. Rhea Nell has served on the Peanut Festival board for more than 15 years, where she has represented several organizations and served in a number of committee chairs.

Rhea Nell holds a Bachelor of Science degree with legal assistant concentrations from Wayland Baptist University and worked as a paralegal for more than 25 years, 18 of which were with the Law Office of Donna S. Rayes. Rhea Nell began her second career as a high school business teacher in 2002 with the Floresville Independent School District, where she currently teaches and coordinates the Work-based Learning (Co-Op) Program. Rhea Nell earned a master’s degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in administration with communication concentrations and is currently completing her principal certification requirements through Lamar University.

In addition to serving on the Peanut Festival Association’s board of directors, Rhea Nell serves as the president of the San Antonio Area Coordinators group for work-based learning business and career prep teachers. She is a member of the Floresville Musical Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Mu Chi Chapter in Floresville, National Honor Society for Leadership and Success, the Texas Business Teachers Association, and SkillsUSA. Rhea Nell is also an active advisor and member in Business Professionals of America, where she works with her students in leadership roles and competitions each year. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Floresville.

Floresville has been Rhea Nell’s home for more than three decades, where she and her husband, Ray Clifton Rogers Jr., raised their two daughters, Deana Smith and Michelle Soriano, in the Fairview community.

The Rogers’ family home sits today where Ray Rogers Sr.’s peanut allotment was farmed and harvested for many years. The annual Peanut Festival celebration has always been a favorite time of year for Rhea Nell and her family. Her daughter, Deana, was a duchess in the 1999 Court of Autumn Beauty, and her daughter, Michelle, was the first runner-up Princess of Heavenly Peace in the 2000 Court of New Horizons. Rhea Nell’s granddaughter, Hailey Nichols, is honored to have served this past year as acolyte to Queen Alexa Carvajal in the Court of Mystical Magical Universe. Grandchildren Hailey, Caiden, Leah, and Lilly are ready for this year’s festivities and will be cheering on their “Grammy” at the grand parade on Saturday.

Rhea Nell would like to extend her appreciation to the Floresville Peanut Festival Association for giving her the honor to serve as president of the 68th annual Floresville Peanut Festival. The fun and excitement of the annual festival tradition will begin Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Goober Games and end with the musical talents of Kyle Park on Saturday, Oct. 13. Rhea Nell is looking forward to a successful festival and personally invites everyone to come out and enjoy all the activities planned for the week.
