Marvin Roemer will be the 2012 Floresville Peanut Festival Parade grand marshal, and he has a very definite connection to peanuts. In the late 1800s, his paternal grandparents, Harry and Ida Pfeiffer Roemer, settled on Jackson Gulch in the Calaveras community in what is now Wilson County just north of Floresville. The Roemer family continued to farm peanuts, with Marvin maintaining the tradition until 1990.  . . .
