Candidate for: SHERIFF

I have been in public service for more than 30 years. In high school, I became a volunteer fireman, and later, a volunteer emergency medical technician. At 19, I was the youngest commissioned deputy sheriff in Bexar County, was later an investigator, then a sergeant. I managed 1,800 employees and a $100 million budget.

If elected I plan to raise the bar on standards of service and care to citizens of Wilson County. All over the county I hear complaints of “deputies are never seen or the bad attitudes.” I know there are great men and women who will continue to work for Wilson County, but under a more defined expectation. I believe we have a sufficient budget but need reutilization of resources to give the citizens what they expect.

Making reports more available, offering free home inspections on how to better secure their homes. By having supervisors attend homeowners’ and community meetings to be more in touch with the people they serve. Designated cell phones and emails to send information directly to officers freeing up 911 lines and staff. Looking at my email, www.chrisforsheriff.org, addressing school safety, emergency management, county growth, crimes, gangs, and sex offenders.
