ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Raymond Asberry Sr., born June 7, 1925, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at the age of 87. Raymond was born in LaCoste, Texas, was a former resident of Sutherland Springs, and lived most of his life in San Antonio.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Later, he retired from civil service at Kelly Air Force Base with 37 years of service.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Melba Asberry; son James R. “Jim” Asberry Jr. and wife Marilyn; and grandchildren Jennifer Wehe and husband Scott and James R. “Trey” Asberry III and wife Sara.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, from 6-9 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel.

Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio.

The Sutherland Spring School Classmates wish to send their deepest sympathy for the loss of Raymond Asberry Sr. He will be missed. We have our reunion every year and he will be remembered and also his family in our prayers.
