Jerry Staggs Bielke-Penshorn, a native of Stockdale, recently celebrated her 40th anniversary as an employee and officer with Marion State Bank. Bielke-Penshorn began working in the bookkeeping department in September 1972. At that time, the bank had four employees.

Bielke-Penshorn was sent to Dallas for computer training when the bank purchased its first computer in 1980. Through the years, she was promoted to assistant cashier, assistant vice president, and now serves as vice president and internal auditor.

The bank celebrated her anniversary with a catered meal for all employees in appreciation for her years of service.

Marion State Bank is a 106-year-old community bank with local ownership serving Marion and the surrounding area.
