Promotional business helps good cause

FALLS CITY -- The Scleroderma Foundation is set to benefit from an entrepreneur with a big, soft heart but, quite literally, hardening skin. “Selling for a Cure” is the tagline of Marilyn Collum’s business, WhatDoIGive.com -- a new gift, incentive, and promotional products company just launched. A portion of her sales will be donated to the Scleroderma Foundation.
“I have this disease so my fight is a real deal,” said Collum, a Falls City resident.
Scleroderma is not contagious, infectious, cancerous, or malignant, but it is a serious disease. It is estimated that only 300,000 Americans have the disease, and female patients outnumber males by four to one. There is no cause and, currently, no cure for the disease. But, thanks to the efforts by Collum and a host of other donors, research can continue to find a cure for this debilitating disease.
