The Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas (ICA) invites all area cattlemen and -women, farmers, and area rural folks to the South Central Texas Independent Cattlemen’s Association fall meeting set for Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Falls City Community Center, located off U.S. 181 in Falls City. A complimentary barbecue meal will be served.

Scheduled speakers for the evening include Dusty Abney with Cargill Industries, who will address “Winter Supplementation Strategies” and mineral program.

Platinum Wealth Solutions representative Nicholas C. Valenti will address estate planning. With the ongoing Eagle Ford shale exploration, this will give ranchers the opportunity to discuss how to incorporate estate planning into their long-term plans.

ICA Executive Director Bill Hyman will update the cattlemen on the Texas Animal Health Commission’s new tagging rules, as well as other pertinent information affecting today’s cattle industry.

Participants need not be members to attend.

For more information and to register for the meal, call local chapter President Brad Cotton at 830-391-0337, chapter Director Richard L. “Dickie” Jackson at 830-391-3153, or chapter director and ICA First Vice President A.L. “Windy” Miller at 210-215-1139.
