Craig Mitchell Lemon, loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather of La Vernia, Texas, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at the age of 77. He was born on May 14, 1935, in Searcy, Ark., to Ross A. Lemon and Ida Mae Collyer.

Craig worked for civil service at Kelly Air Force Base for 23 years. After retirement, Craig worked for Sokia Measuring Systems and retired in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his parents; eight sisters; and one brother.

Craig is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Robbie Lemon of La Vernia; son Craig M. Lemon Jr. of San Antonio; daughter Karen Lyssy and husband Allen of Stockdale; grandchildren Shawn Kaleel and husband Reza, Shelly Lyssy, Chris Lyssy and wife Chelsea, Jessica Lemon, and Craig Lemon III and wife Laurali; great-grandchildren Ethan and Everett Lemon; numerous other family members; and many loving friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 6-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel.

Interment followed in the Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, La Vernia, TX 78121.
