1975-2012

Oscar Sotelo Jr. went to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, in Garden Ridge, Texas, at the age of 37 years and 16 days. He was born Sept. 29, 1975, in Floresville to Sofia and Oscar Sotelo Sr. He was a native of Floresville and a longtime resident of San Antonio.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Julian and Maria Sotelo and Vicenta Hernandez.

He is survived by his wife, Marisela Sotelo of San Antonio; his father, Oscar Sotelo Sr. of Seguin; his mother, Sofia Hernandez of Floresville; his grandfather, Zacrias Hernandez of Floresville; and his children, Jennifer Sotelo of Floresville, Gabriela Sotelo of San Antonio, Oscar Gabriel Sotelo of San Antonio, Christopher Chavez of Floresville, and Mark Quinones, Steven Quinones, and Timothy Tafoya, all of San Antonio. He is also survived by his sister, Blanca Sotelo of San Antonio; his brothers, Roy Sotelo of Poteet, John Henry Gonzalez of San Antonio, Josue Sotelo of Seguin, and Oseas Sotelo of Seguin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, Oct. 18, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville. A prayer service was also held Thursday.

A funeral service was held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bennie Herrera officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.
