Marcelino R. Montez, born on Sept. 8, 1926, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at the age of 86 in his home.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Cecilia “Tila”; and his daughter, Virginia Hughes and husband Walter.

Marcelino is survived by his sister, Mary Aragon; brother Santana Montez; his daughter, Mary Olga Carrigo; son Marcelino Montez and wife Pearl; his granddaughters, Cynthia Hughes, Tina Hughes, Billie Jo Bass and husband Mitch, Siobhan Hughes and husband Javier, Georgina Carrigo and husband Mike, and Katrina Carrigo and husband Joey; and great-grandchildren Cecilia, Marina, Emily, Ethan, Roman, Isabel, Madison, and Sophia.

A rosary was recited on Monday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. in The Angelus Funeral Home Chapel in San Antonio.

A funeral Mass was held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas.

Interment followed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Elmendorf.
