The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office, which includes Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson Counties, is accepting resumes for an Assistant District Attorney position. The selected candidate will work directly under the Border Prosecution Unit Initiative dedicated to Human Trafficking/Human Smuggling. Responsibilities of the position include working closely with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, felony intake, preparation of cases for grand jury, negotiating pleas and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, as well as in criminal bench trials and jury trials in District Court. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas and have a minimum of fifteen (15) years prosecutorial experience and extensive felony trial experience. Stock show entries for the Wilson County, the La Vernia, the Fort Worth, the Hill Country District Junior Livestock Show, the San Antonio, San Angelo, the Houston, and the Star of Texas livestock shows will be processed at the Wilson County office of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service on the following dates:

•Wednesday, Nov. 7, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.

•Thursday, Nov. 8, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-8 p.m.

When coming in, be sure to have exhibitor’s Social Security numbers if entering the major shows, registration papers for breeding entries, and validation of livestock projects. Ordering of poultry project does not constitute entries to the shows.

In order to sign up for the stock shows, you must be enrolled on 4-H Connect. Those showing at the major livestock shows must have gone through the Quality Counts Verification.

Project visits

Anyone needing assistance with checking on the progress of their project animals should contact the Extension Office to schedule a date and time, by calling 830-393-7357.

The Wilson County office of the Texas AgrLife Extension Service is located in the basement of the Wilson County Courthouse in downtown Floresville.
