FLORESVILLE -- A man was transported to Connally Memorial Medical Center Friday night with non-life threatening injuries after his vehicle crashed into Atlas Automotive off of U.S. 181 near F.M. 775.

The driver of the Toyota Yaris, identified as 46-year-old John Grosskopf of San Antonio, was traveling northbound on U.S. 181 when he lost consciousness and veered into the southbound lane.

Grosskopf crossed the southbound lane, through the median and three separate fences and finally came to a halt after crashing into a residential side of the Atlas Automotive building.

Trooper Scott Jendrzey of the Texas Department of Public Safety said Grosskopf is a diabetic and a low blood sugar level may be to blame for his loss of consciousness. Grosskopf was transported to Connalley Memorial Medical Center by Wilson County EMS for observation.

More details on this in the next edition of the Wilson County News.

This could have been so much worse. Thank God that no one was hurt seriously. Be safe this weekend.
