It’s tough out there, with a hurricane bearing down on the East Coast and questions continuing about Libya-Gate, but campaigns must go on.
This is, I believe, about the fifth or sixth email that I have gotten from Michelle Obama or someone else on the campaign staff. The message is the same every time.
It begins:
“Friend -- [I guess "Enemy" would not be appropriate.]
"After all Barack has done in office, and after all you have done to build this campaign, we can't afford to watch everything slip away on Election Night.
“But the other side [That would be me, I s’pose!] has outraised us -- our opponents have $45 million more than we do for the final stretch. ...
“That's why we need to do everything we can in these last days, ... [I like that part: THESE LAST DAYS ...!]
Here’s the best part: “Supporting this campaign once more will move us closer to victory -- and enter you to win a trip to Chicago to join Barack on Election Night. ... [Sorry, but I have other plans!]
“Thanks,
“Michelle
“P.S. -- This is the final contest of this campaign.”’
The FINAL contest? You promise?
Counting down to Nov. 6. |
