Hermine Schwarzkopf, 83, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012. She was born on Feb. 5, 1929, in La Vernia to Herman and Erna Adela Koepp Barkmeyer.

She enjoyed her role as a homemaker, where she loved cooking, quilting, gardening, and sewing. Her most precious time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hermine was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Elmer Brietzke; and sister-in-law Marie Brietzke.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Schwarzkopf; children Elizabeth McDonald and husband Dwight, David Vorpahl and wife Barbara, Janiece Schwarzkopf, Gary Wayne Schwarzkopf, and Judy Moreno and husband Shawn; grandchildren Jefferey McDonald and wife Angela, Sheri Lott and husband Bruce, Kelly Walters and husband Brian, Brad Vorpahl, Michael Scheffel Jr. and wife Patricia, Jason Scheffel, Kyler Moreno, and Kaston Moreno; great-grandchildren Jackson, Kassidy, Joshua, Brandon, Lana, Zachary, Caitlyn, Collin, John David, Blake, Layne, Lance, and Colin; numerous nieces and nephews; and cousins.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5-7 p.m. in the Tres Hewell Mortuary in Seguin.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Witschorke officiating.

Interment will follow in the San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin.

Memorial contributions may be made to any hospice organization or charity of one’s choice.
