Alvin “Wade” Hawkins, 77, of Stockdale, Texas, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012. He was born in Stockdale Oct. 29, 1934, the son of Alvin and Geneva Neyland Hawkins.

Wade served his country in the U.S. Army. He then worked overseas as a pipe fitter and he loved to farm. His personality and kindness touched all of those that he met. He will be deeply missed and was truly loved, his family said.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Varnon Hawkins; his sister, Caroline Cone; and his parents.

Wade is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Sefcik Hawkins; his son, Jason Hawkins and wife Candi and their children, Brooke and Kendall Hawkins, Kristie McClane, and Nicholas Gallegos; his stepsons, Roger Sefcik and wife Robin and Tommy Sefcik and wife Ruth; his stepdaughter, Lindy Rivas and husband Eddie and their children, Shavon Delgado, Hailie, Jazzabel, Hope, and Nicolas Martinez, Elizabeth, Derek, Arran, Dylan, Jason, Thomas Sefcik, and Thomas Sefcik Jr.; his sister, Sipple Lee West; his brother, Macon V. Hawkins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 28, from 4-7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment followed in the Steele Branch Cemetery in Stockdale.
