Missing: Male Chihuahua, black/gray/white, named Spy, possibly missing from F.M. 775 around Vintage Oaks Subdivision and Woodlands area, Sat., Sept. 26 about 10 p.m. 830-391-5055. 
Lost: Border Collie, black and light brown, 9 months old, wearing a green collar, last seen Sept. 22 near CR 427 in Poth. If found call 210-324-1208.
Lost: Chihuahua, black, tan, and white male, "Spy," very small, off F.M. 775, across from the Woodlands on Sept. 26, he is missed dearly. Call 830-391-5055.

Cora Eleonera Bruns Ahrens passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on Aug. 3, 1915, to Rudolfph and Emilie Buehring Bruns in the Lenz community of Karnes County. She was baptized in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on March 16, 1916, and confirmed on April 13, 1930.

Cora attended school in Lenz, and at the age of 16, moved with her parents and sister to Live Oak County south of the Fashing community. She married Harold Ahrens in the Fashing Methodist Church on Sept. 30, 1936. They made their home in the Fashing community, farming and raising two daughters, Dorothy Elizabeth and Sharon Ann. Cora and Harold were active members of the Fashing Methodist Church for 13 years. They moved to their farm in the Black Hill community in Atascosa County in November 1949 and continued to farm the land. When Harold retired in 1978, they bought a home in Dewees in Wilson County. Harold passed away on April 30, 1985. She continued to live in Dewees until moving to Karnes City to be near her sisters and mother-in-law in December 1986. In 2001, she moved to Mesquite to be close to her daughters, eventually moving to Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold.

Cora is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Gilbert and Sharon Gustof; her four grandchildren, Donald Gilbert, Ronald Gilbert, David Gustof, and Pamela Cherry; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
