Alfredo “Freddy” Garcia, a lifelong resident of Poth, Texas, entered into eternal rest Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at 4:20 p.m. in the Regency Manor Nursing Home in Floresville at the age of 75 years and 15 days. Freddy was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Dewees, the son of Margarito and Catarina Gonzales Garcia.

Freddy worked as a clerk at Baumann’s Grocery Store in Poth for many years, and was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth.

Freddy is survived by his sons, Tony Garcia and wife Isabel, Billy Garcia and wife Cindy, and Raul Garcia and wife Rita, all of Poth; his siblings, Cecilio Garcia and wife Petra of Poth, Janie Camarillo and husband Fred of Floresville, and Stella Duran and husband Steven of San Antonio; his 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 22, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Poth.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, officiated by the Rev. Phillip Henning.

Interment followed in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery in Poth.
